Choosing a thermostat
For a single-stage AC and furnace, almost any modern thermostat works. Heat pumps, two-stage and variable-speed systems need a thermostat that supports them. Put it on an inside wall away from sunlight, supply registers and kitchens. A thermostat in the wrong spot makes the whole house feel wrong.
Common questions
Will a smart thermostat work with my heat pump?
Most will, if they're wired and configured for heat pump staging and auxiliary heat. We set that up correctly.
Why is my heat pump always on AUX heat?
Low refrigerant, a defrost problem, or thermostat settings that call for backup heat too early are common causes.
